If you’re wondering where to eat meat in Kos, look no further than To Xasapaki — a hidden gem that blends traditional butcher charm with modern steakhouse flair.
Diners rave about selecting their own cuts directly from the butcher’s display — from perfectly marbled Black Angus to juicy rib-eyes — which are then expertly grilled to order. The meat quality is consistently praised as top-tier, and the house-made sauces take the flavors to the next level.
The menu also features creative starters like beef carpaccio, steak tartare, and cheese croquettes — all highly rated for their flavor and presentation. Burgers, in particular, are described as some of the best on the island, often made with in-house smoked bacon and custom toppings.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — more like dining in someone’s stylish home than a typical restaurant — and the staff are known for their friendly and attentive service.
Value for money is another standout: a full meal (including steak, burger, rustic fries, and water) averages around €30–€35, with customers noting the portions are generous and the pricing very fair for the quality offered.
In summary, Xasapaki offers:
Whether you’re a meat lover or just looking for a memorable food experience in Kos away from tourist traps, Xasapaki is a must-visit destination.

4 months agoAn absolutely outstanding experience! We had an incredible steak for two, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The quality of the meat was exceptional, and the red wine we chose paired beautifully with the meal. What truly made the evening special was the staff — they were incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire experience. Their service elevated everything and made us feel genuinely welcome. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates great food, excellent wine, and top-level service. We will definitely be coming back!

3 months agoWe went here during our holiday in September but I had to leave a review because even 7 months later we regularly talk about how amazing this place is! The butcher is very kind and loves to explain more about his business (like how it started with cooking for friends/family) and the rest of the staff is very friendly as well. The food is a 12/10 experience because the quality of the meats are amazing and the price/quality ratio is insanely good! We went here twice during our holiday and had pork, chicken, beef and lam: all fantastic in flavor and quality. You pick a meat, choose a side and a sauce and they will cook it for you. Tip: the sides are very big! Can easily share 1 or 2 with 2 people. Also, if they have a dish of the day: choose it! You also really need to make a reservation because it is very popular. I can't say enough how much I miss this restaurant and wish I could come here more often!

2 months agoThe food was quite delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and शांत. The price-performance balance was also very good. The chocolate mousse is especially a must-try. We both dined at the restaurant and did some shopping from the butcher section, and overall we were satisfied. However, an incident we experienced spoiled our mood. After leaving the restaurant, a waiter ran after us claiming that we hadn’t paid, which was quite uncomfortable. Although they later apologized, it still left a negative impression. Despite the place not being crowded, such carelessness is not acceptable. Therefore, my rating is unfortunately low

2 months agoOne of the best restaurants Ive ever been to. There is a butcher shop there, that's a special concept of the restaurant- you're free to choose a piece of meat and it will be cooked for you. Food is perfect, the rest as well. I should add only one thing - toilet is not locked there, there is no a hook or something like that to able to lock from inside... I don't underrate the place due to it but such fact is important to mention and to fix, hopefully.

5 months agoWonderful steakhouse with a unique concept! You choose your meat directly from the butcher section inside the restaurant, which makes the whole experience more interactive and fun. There are two prices displayed — one for takeaway at butcher price and one for dining in — which is very transparent. Once you select your cut, they cook it exactly to your preferred doneness. The Black Angus ribeye was almost perfection — juicy, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. The local T-bone steak was also very good, but the ribeye was definitely the star of the night. Sides and drinks are reasonably priced, and the meat selection offers a wide range of options for different budgets. As a frequent Kos traveler, we will definitely be back!
