If you’re wondering where to eat meat in Kos, look no further than To Xasapaki — a hidden gem that blends traditional butcher charm with modern steakhouse flair.
Diners rave about selecting their own cuts directly from the butcher’s display — from perfectly marbled Black Angus to juicy rib-eyes — which are then expertly grilled to order. The meat quality is consistently praised as top-tier, and the house-made sauces take the flavors to the next level.
The menu also features creative starters like beef carpaccio, steak tartare, and cheese croquettes — all highly rated for their flavor and presentation. Burgers, in particular, are described as some of the best on the island, often made with in-house smoked bacon and custom toppings.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — more like dining in someone’s stylish home than a typical restaurant — and the staff are known for their friendly and attentive service.
Value for money is another standout: a full meal (including steak, burger, rustic fries, and water) averages around €30–€35, with customers noting the portions are generous and the pricing very fair for the quality offered.
In summary, Xasapaki offers:
Whether you’re a meat lover or just looking for a memorable food experience in Kos away from tourist traps, Xasapaki is a must-visit destination.

2 months agoIf you find yourself in Kos, you must visit "Το χασάπακι," a brilliant concept that combines a butcher shop with an exceptional dining experience. Here, you can choose premium-quality meats straight from the butcher's counter, and they will grill them to perfection for you to enjoy. In addition to offering top-notch quality, the establishment boasts very reasonable prices and impeccable service. It's truly a place that stands out for its unique concept, outstanding flavors, and warm hospitality. I tried the tabbouleh salad as a starter, and for the main course, I opted for a perfectly cooked medium-rare aged beef steak, served with a side of grilled vegetables.

4 months agoWe where struggling to find somewhere to eat during the off peak season. We cam across this little place and was amazing. This place is attached to a butcher so choosing your own meat was a great added extra. The price is good for what you get. I think i had one of the best beef burgers in my life here, and as a fussy eater this says alot. Would 100% recommend. The staff are friendly and extreamely helpful.

3 months agoPsst... Hey, you. Yeah, you. Enjoying your holiday? Eating a lot of garlic bread, frozen deep-fried fries, mezes, mixed grill dishes, and looking for something familiar? Congratulations! You've finally found it! Scrolling through the endless sea of 4.8+ rated restaurants on the island and deciding where to go can be hard, but this is what you've been looking for. Book a table so you won't be disappointed, or try your luck. It's a butcher shop. Everything is fresh, for real. You point to the meat you want, say how much, and they cut and grill it to perfection (in my experience). The burger (BEST BURGER ON THE ISLAND) has the most amazing sear on the beef, paired with REAL rustic country fries. And then, the bill... I ordered (I only had breakfast that day to save room—the portions are not small.) - Sparkling water - Beef nigiri - Country fries - ~220g ribeye steak - Beef burger (~200g beef patty) All of this for ~32€. Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent atmosphere. (Cute cats.) If I ever come to Kos again, I hope they are still operating. P.S. They have their own smoker on the street where they smoke the bacon for the burger, pickle their own cucumbers, etc. Not a hard choice this time. You're welcome.
