Located just 11 km west of Kos Town, Tigaki Beach is one of the islandās most beloved coastal escapes ā a long, golden stretch of sand that seems to go on forever. With calm, shallow waters and a wide sandy shoreline, itās perfect for families, couples, and anyone looking to relax in a peaceful setting with a view of the endless Aegean.
The beach is fully organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, water sports, and a laid-back line of beachfront tavernas where you can enjoy local dishes like grilled octopus or a fresh Greek salad just steps from the sea. Yet, despite its popularity, Tigaki never feels crowded ā thereās always space to breathe.
Behind the beach lies the Alikes Salt Lake, a protected area that comes alive with birds, including flamingos during the spring months, adding a touch of wild beauty to the scene. And as the sun begins to set, Tigaki reveals one of the most magical sunsets on the island, painting the sky in soft pinks and purples.
Whether you’re here for a swim, a bike ride along the coast, or just to unwind with your feet in the sand, Tigaki Beach is a must-visit during your stay in Kos.
š Tip: Rent a bike from Kos Town and ride along the scenic coastal road to Tigaki ā it’s one of the best cycling routes on the island!

a month agoBooked this hotel through TUI for our holiday. Also it was my wife's birthday so needed a place to go. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. In the Dinning area we had Noah who was always catering for us paid particular attention to my kids knowing what they wanted when they come for their meal. The rooms were always cleaned. The Kitchen Manager Mr Costa was really intentional when l told him it was my wife's birthday. He helped decorate the table, baked a cake well paid for it and made the evening special for her by singing for her. The holiday Owner did not spare any expense he gave us a bottle of wine to celebrate the occasion. She was indeed very happy. The cleaners also went all out to decorate the room with flowers. The hotel was a short walk to the beach very clean and lively. I would recommend this hotel anytime.

a month agoOne of the first things that I do when booking a holiday is check the reviews and initial Reviews of The Tigaki Beach Hotel were very mixed. You have to factor in those who just moan for moaning sake and then couple that with others who literally are happy with a barn and a bail of hay on the floor. Upon arrival at the hotel check in was a little, slow. The main reason for this is the Tourist Tax that TUI Do not tell you that you have to pay. That is roughly ā¬70 per room per week, so for my family of 5 (who had two rooms) it was ā¬140. This was not detailed anywhere on any paperwork when I booked it with TUI so this did frustrate me a little. Once this was out of the way (and I felt ā¬140 lighter) I was surprised by the hotel condition and the grounds. It has clearly undergone some serious refurbishment and this is evident in the clean communal areas and very well kept grounds around the pool. We were directed to rooms 2205 and 2206 which wasnāt in the main hotel but was in the opposing building which overlooks the pool. Upon entry to the room (which has a shared locked corridor) I was bowled away with the quality of the accommodation considering the price we paid for the holiday. The rooms did have kettles and fridges (despite some of the other reviews saying it didnāt) and I have to be honest if you want to make yourself a cup of tea in 40 degree heat then crack on, but if you donāt, like we didnāt, we used the free bar and this is covered later on. There claims to be 4 pools and to some extent this is correct there are four however two of them are large normal size pools and two of them are childrenās pools one of them being for babies or toddlers perfect for all children of all ages. I donāt believe the pools are heated however this isnāt a massive issue because once the sun starts blaring down you are glad of a cold dip. There are plenty of sun loungers and didnāt have an issue in getting one. The all inclusive offering is very good, the food is excellent and the snacks are also very good. I really donāt understand some of the older reviews saying that the food wasnāt fantastic. It was superb and I didnāt have any issues any day and neither did any of the children. The bar is open from 8 am where you can grab coffee, cold drinks, beer and wine which is all available on tap. You can also grab cold coffee and ice cream throughout the day and as much of it as you want. My tip would be to take a cold flask with you so you can pour yourself a beer and it will stay cold as the temperature was touching 40° on most days. From about 6 pm in the evening there are cocktails available and a range of other drinks to suit your taste. The room itself was comfortable very well appointed with excellent facilities. The hotel is opposite a fantastic strip of beach however beware that the Sun loungers on the beach are chargeable at roughly ā¬10 each. Tigaki is a lovely little town and has some lovely bars and shops and well worth a mooch. We didnāt eat there because we had all inclusive, but there was some lovely restaurants. There is also a tour shop in the town and I would recommend that you book any local tours here rather than using the tour operator you flew with because the prices will differ significantly. The three island Cruise is really quite excellent and well worth ā¬120 for five people. There is also a free bus which takes you to the water park ālidoā which is a superb water park - but spaces are limited to get there early. Tigaki Beach Hotel is a fantastic location and I would really recommend this hotel to anybody in the future.

4 months agoWow! Stunning beaches! We went to Andrea's beach- 15 euro for front row sunbeds with a beautiful umbrella, a lockable storage cupboard and a service button to the close by restaurant. You simple press the button and they come to you to take your order and then bring it back to you at no extra cost! Fancy a beer in the sea- just press your button! The sand was lovely and the sea was clear with a few fish HOWEVER- WARNING ā ļø I stepped on a weever fish š and was poisoned, the pain is horrendous and intense, it's immediate and you must seek medical attention straight away! There are no warning signs of these fish in the waters and there was no help! The restaurant told us to go to hospital and the treatment is unpleasant. It could ruin your holiday so make sure your get yourself some sea shoes! Other than that tigaki itself is lovely with plenty of shops and restaurants on offer.
